Daniela Pelegrinelli / Argentina

Museo del Juguete de San Isidro - Director

As director and founder of the Museo del Juguete de San Isidro, the first toy museum in Argentina, Pelegrinelli oversees policies on programs and playful experiences for children. Pelegrinelli is a pioneer in Argentina in studying toys and dolls as cultural objects. She has developed exhibits, inventoried collections, created archives, written articles, given interviews, and created workshops and courses in order to shape the field in Argentina. Her work has explored the significance of toys and play in childhood development. She has been a consultant for the children’s TV channel Paka Paka and for diverse national policies on children. In 2013, she participated in the TyPA Lab on Museum Management, and in 2014, she spent three months at the V&A Museum of Childhood in London, working in the collection department and conducting research. She published Argentina’s first book on the toy industry, Diccionario de Juguetes Argentinos (Argentine Toys’ Dictionary. Childhood, Industry and Education 1880–1965), which explores the interplay among the toy industry, global economy, culture and education.
