Florencia González de Langarica / Argentina

Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires - Head of Educational Management

With degrees in museum studies and fine arts, Florencia has focused her professional work on museum management, with an emphasis on visitor behavior and visitor-centered practices. She specializes in training and leading work teams, project development and community, and access programs for museums and social organizations. From 2001 to 2012, Florencia worked for MALBA (Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires) as program coordinator and head of education. During 2013, she was head of education and institutional relations at the new MACBA (Museum of Contemporary Art of Buenos Aires), where she worked on public programming. Recently she has been working as an independent consultant for cultural organizations including Fundación Navarro Viola, Museo MAR, Museo de Arte Eduardo Minnicelli, MAC de Bahía Blanca, Museo Nacional Casa de Ricardo Rojas, Ciclo Joven AAMNBA, Móvil Arte Contemporáneo and the Museo de Arte Moderno de Bahia, Brazil. In 2013, she was part of the first cohort of the TyPA Lab on Museum Management. She teaches museum education at the Universidad Museo Social Argentino (UMSA) and museum studies at Centro de Investigaciones Cinematográficas (CIC). She cofounded and continues to colead REMCAA-Red de Educadores de Museos y Centros de Arte en Argentina, an independent organization that empowers museum educators by creating networking platforms for peer research, exchange and training on museum education. Recently she was appointed head of educational management at the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires.
