Néstor Garcia Canclini is a professor at the Autonomous Metropolitan University of Mexico and emeritus researcher at the National Research System (Mexico). He has been a visiting professor at the universities of Austin, Duke, New York, Stanford, Barcelona, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo. He received a Guggenheim Fellowship and several international awards for his books, including the Book Award from the Latin American Studies Association for Culturas híbridas (Hybrid Cultures). His major books have been translated into English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Korean. In 2014 he received the National Prize for Arts and Sciences in Mexico.
