Andrés Roldán
At Parque Explora, the largest science center-aquarium planetarium (322.000 square feet) complex and most visited museum in Colombia, Andrés has guided the team to create a vision for inspiring, communicating and presenting interactive learning environments to engage the public in understanding science and technology. Since opening in 2007, Parque Explora has become the most visited museum in Colombia with average annual attendance of 600,000 visitors.
Andrés has extensive experience conceptualizing, designing, building museum exhibitions and learning environments as well as developing education strategies. He also excels at museum management, development and fundraising. His capacities were gained through participating in a long term vision of reconstructing a society that suffered the impact of violence and inequity. The approached used inclusion and integration of communities with urban planning, architecture, culture, education, social innovation, science and technology in the most vulnerable areas of the city to create a new paradigm for civic engagement in the region.
Roldán excels at strategic planning and management of interdisciplinary staff in different areas including administration, fundraising, public relations, content development, education, design and communications, technology and media specialists, tinkering, architecture, engineering, writers and editors. He also directed strategic and master planning, outreach program development, theater design and media programs for small, middle and large museums and learning facilities.
