Fernanda Venegas Adriazol
Fernanda leads the education department of the Museum of Education Gabriela Mistral (belonging to the Department of Libraries, Archives and Museums DIBAM-Chile) and is lecturer at the History Department of the University of Santiago. She holds a bachelor’s degree in history and social science education (University of Santiago of Chile) and a master's degree in cultural heritage studies (University College London, England). Fernanda began her museum career as an educator at the National History Museum of Chile, where she worked for five years. During this period, she was awarded a scholarship to take part in the International Visitor Leadership Program (U.S.A.) of Managing Museum Education Programs. In general, she has explored critical museum pedagogy by creating inclusive programs along with immigrants, inmates, amongst others; and educational initiatives that approach difficult social issues.
