Joana Pires
Joana Pires is the director of Institutional Development at the Paço do Frevo museum, a place, dedicated to the study and diffusion of frevo —a wide range of musical styles originating from Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil, that was included on the UNESCO's list of intangible heritage.
Pires is a photographer from the Universidad Católica de Pernambuco and a social communicator with a master's degree in Estética y Cultura de la Imagen y del Sonido from Universidad Federal de Pernambuco.
She has worked in the communication areas of entities such as Cais do Sertão Museum, Malakoff Tower and Museum of Contemporary Art in Olinda.
Currently, Joana is a member of the feminist group Deja ela em Paz, recognized for its urban interventions, and the collective of female photographers 7Fotografía.
