María del Rosario Escobar

María del Rosario Escobar is the Director of the Museo de Antioquia, the most important museum in Medellín. She has a long professional trajectory in the cultural and artistic sector of Medellin. From 2012 to 2005, she served as Secretary of City Culture of Medellin. Before, she served as Coordinator of the Cultural Section of the Universidad Eafit, and was editor of the cultural section of El Mundo periodical.

Escobar earned a degree in Social Communication and Journalism from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, and an MA in Humanities from the Universidad Eafit, with a specialization in Semiotics of Communicative Interaction and in Urban Journalism. She has taught Humanities at the Universidad Eafit and has published articles and research on art themes for several periodicals and editorials.
