Director of Communications and Institutional Development at Biomuseo
Roberto A. Maduro
After graduating with a bachelor's degree in History from Lafayette College, Roberto was in advertising and marketing for nearly 30 years. He worked in several advertising agencies where he reached the position of general manager at two of them. He also worked as a "client", as Director for
Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Grupo Rey, an important Panamanian company.
While there, his relationship with the Biomuseo began when he attended the launching event of this unique project in 2002. Afterwards, he replaced his boss in the meetings of the Fundraising Committee to which he belonged to (but never attended) and, later, organized the million-dollar donation from the company for the creation of the Biomuseo’s school program.
After leaving Grupo Rey he was recruited by the Biomuseo to lead its fundraising efforts; ironically, now it would be his responsibility to conduct the meetings of the above-mentioned committee. After two years and a very successful effort, he decided to take a half-year sabbatical to travel. After a brief return to advertising, it became clear that his passion lay with the Biomuseo, so he came back and here he is since April 2016, in charge of communications and institutional development.
