Reimagining the Museum: Conference of the Americas, will be held November 20-22, 2019, in Oaxaca, Mexico. It will offer a unique opportunity for professionals from the Americas to share challenges, inspire change, strengthen skills and forge new connections.

Over the three days of the conference, attendees will discuss and debate strategies, propose solutions and actions for institutional change and develop a deeper understanding of museum roles and responsibilities with regard to their ever-changing communities. This third edition will focus on the challenges and responsibilities of coexistence between people of diverse social, political and cultural origin, as well as their relationship with the natural environment. Oaxaca is the ideal backdrop for this discussion as it is the most biodiverse state in Mexico.

The third edition will address coexistence as a responsibility and aspiration. How can the museum champion a more just and equitable society? To what extent does the scale of an organization determine the scale of its ambitions? Do collaborations enhance the power and effectiveness of advocacy? How do museums help multicultural societies become intercultural?
