Hillary Enríquez Díaz
Independent cultural managerColectivo Fluorescente
Mexico
She studied Art History at the Escuela Nacional de Estudios Superiores Unidad Morelia, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, where she took an interest in museum activities. She is also an active member of Colectivo Fluorescente, an independent project that’s been in development in Morelia, Michoacán, for over a year. The Colectivo has mounted various exhibitions with emerging artists, and Hillary’s work there has greatly enriched the theoretical and practical experience she received in her formal studies, helping her develop and strengthen her taste around specific topics.
Other personal interests include performing arts such as dance and theater, mainly puppet-theatre. She has also carried out research around museums in alternative spaces, which allow the access of other types of audiences that tend to be in vulnerable situations.
Together with the Colectivo Fluorescente she has been working in “Lo destruido como museo”, a project that seeks to reuse an abandoned train station for various cultural and artistic activities related to nearby communities, based on their actual needs. The project seeks to rebuild the history of the space, along with the history of its inhabitants.
