Daniel Castro

Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano, Degree in Musical Studies from the Universidad de los Andes, and Master’s Degree in History from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Castro is widely recognized and highly experienced in the development of projects, educational policies and good practices of museum communication and management, both in Colombia and Latin America. 

Former Head of Education and Culture in the Museo Nacional de Colombia (1996-1999), Director of the Casa Museo Quinta de Bolívar and the Museo de la Independencia-Casa del Florero from Colombia’s Ministry of Culture (1999-2015). Board Member and Coordinator of Latin America and the Caribbean for the Committee for Education and Cultural Action (CECA) of ICOM (2009-2014).

Since 1980 he has designed various didactical projects in diverse museums and cultural institutions in Colombia, as the Casa de Bolívar in Bucaramanga, the Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá, the Museo Nacional de Colombia, the Biblioteca Luis Ángel Arango in Bogotá and Cultural Areas of the Banco de la República, as well as the Schloss Belvedere (Vienna).
