Lucina Jiménez López

Doctor in Anthropological Sciences. Cultural policy expert of the Committee on culture of the world organization of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) for the Agenda 21 for culture. Member of the Group of Experts on Governance for Culture and Development of UNESCO, since 2011. Member of the Scientific Committee of the International University of Peace, Switzerland. She was awarded the Internazionale Universum Donna Award in 2017. In 2018, she was awarded the “Angel of the City” Award, for her contribution to cultural rights. She founded and directed ConArte, an organization that promotes education in arts and in the service of peace, in public schools and marginalized communities, in connection with urban development, citizen security and gender equality.

As an international consultant in culture and development, artistic policies and culture of peace she has collaborated in more than 10 countries and cities in Latin America, Europe and Africa. She was General Director of the Centro Nacional de las Artes and Technical Director of the Frontiers Cultural Program and the National Coordination of Decentralization of the Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (CONACULTA), now the Ministry of Culture. Author of Políticas culturales en transición, Democracia cultural, Gestión cultural y lectura en tiempos de diversidad and Arte para la convivencia y educación para la paz, among others.
