Luis Manjarrés

Luis Carlos Manjarrés Martínez is a curator at the Museo de Memoria de Colombia, a museologist at the Department of Experience Development in the Museo Interactivo Maloka, a member of the Committee of Exhibition Contents in the Comisión para el Esclarecimiento de la Verdad, la Convivencia y la No Repetición in Colombia, and an associate and curator at the Museo Queer, MuseoQ.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Museology and Heritage Management from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, a Specialization in Cooperation and International Cultural Management from the Universitat de Barcelona and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Communication with a focus on Advertising from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. In 2019, he was a fellow of the International Curatorial Intensive and in 2016 he was a fellow of Fundación TyPa, as a student of the TyPA Lab on Museum Management. In 2015, he participated in the creation of the Centro de Pensamiento para las Artes y el Acuerdo Social of the Faculty of Arts at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and acted as public coordinator of the Museo Efímero del Olvido in the National Artists Hall in Colombia.

He has a decade of experience in collaborative museological projects with a psychosocial, activist and educommunication approach. He seeks to make museums a platform and means of social appropriation of complex and relevant issues such as the symbolic reparation of the victims of armed conflict and the promotion of content aimed at the prevention of acts of violence and discrimination.
