Luz Santiago is a museum professional, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and a Master’s Degree in Museum Education and Communication from the Universidad de Zaragoza, Spain… and is a mother 24/7. She works as Operations Coordinator and Educator at the Museo de la Filatelia de Oaxaca (MUFI), where she has created programs such as “MUFI en tu comunidad”, “El teatro como herramienta de difusión para acervos filatélicos” and “Velis viajero”, among others. She shares the philosophy of Critical Museology, based on social and community values, values ​​that she emphasises in her projects, such as collaborative and inclusive work, which promote identity construction.

She has participated in publications and projects such as the I Encuentro de Educadorxs de Museos en México, “Donde el corazón late más fuerte”; collaborated in the II Congreso Internacional de Educación y Accesibilidad en Museos y Patrimonio, “En y con todos los sentidos, hacia la integración social en igualdad”; worked in content production for the educational plan of the Museo Infantil de Oaxaca (MIO); and participated in the “Compromiso digital” course given by the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos III and the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza. 

During her 8 years of work in a museum she has verified how museums can become, and are, agents of change and social transformation.
