Stephanie López Barona is a Social Communicator and Journalist from the Universidad del Valle (Cali, Colombia, 2010) . Her work is mainly centered on the development of independent and alternative communication projects with various communities in her country, especially Afro-Pacific communities. Her interests include researching and promoting collaborative models of learning and work, and alternative radio.

She’s been a member of the NoísRadio collective for over ten years, a space in which she participates in the creation of sound content and live radio actions, and in the design of research-creation methodologies. Since 2014, she has collaborated for the independent platform Hacia el Litoral, a project that promotes artistic actions in the Colombian-Panamanian Pacific territory. Together with the Más Arte Más Acción foundation and the Colombian Ministry of Culture, she participated in the “Puerto Creativo” Audiovisual Creation Residency in Buenaventura, Colombia, in 2015.

She is currently part of the Education and Culture team of the Museo La Tertulia in Cali, Colombia, where she carries out territorial projects. Accompanied by a team of artists, she develops Museo + Escuela, a project that invites different rural schools and neighborhood communities to formulate creative crossings, reflections and exercises based on the relationship between art-education-territory.
