Tania Reneaum Panszi

Tania Reneaum Panszi has an extensive knowledge in feminist studies and holds a PhD in Law from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona (2014). She also holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal System and Comparative Social Problems by the Universitat de Barcelona (2006). During her studies in Spain, she taught a course on Gender and Criminal Justice System, as well as classes on Victimology at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. She has also worked as a professor of the Master’s Degree in Gender and Public Policies in the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO), where she continues to direct Master’s Thesis.

In addition to her academic training, she has worked in autonomous public human rights organizations in Catalonia, El Salvador and Mexico. She was the Director of the Department of Justice and Human Rights of the Instituto Nacional de las Mujeres de México (2003-2006) and Director of the Area of ​​Legislative Harmonization at the Centro de Estudios para el Adelanto de las Mujeres y la Equidad de Género of the Chamber of Deputies (2006-2007). She was also the Director of Follow-up to Recommendations of the Comisión de Derechos Humanos del Distrito Federal (2007-2008). 

She also served as Principal Advisor to the Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, based in Washington.
