Kathleen McLean
Kathleen McLean is principal of Independent Exhibitions (Ind-X), a museum consulting firm specializing in exhibition development, design, programming, and museum strategic planning. She has been creative director the Oakland Museum of California's Art, History, and Natural Sciences Galleries and the Director of the Center for Public Exhibitions and Public Programs at the Exploratorium in San Francisco. McLean is the author of a number of books, including The Convivial Museum (2010), Visitor Voices in Museum Exhibitions (2007), and Planning for People in Museum Exhibitions (1994). In 2006, Kathleen McLean was selected for the American Association of Museums’ Centennial Honor Role, as one of 100 museum professionals to have made a significant contribution to American museums over the last 100 years.
